This beautiful stone originates from the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range of the American West. Sierra Stone was formed by the steady trickle of mineral deposits over a period of 400 million years. Each stone is a totally unique combination of rust, black, silver and blue. The overlapping colors are reminiscent of fallen autumn leaves.
The Sierra Urn base is made of sheet bronze, lacquer coated and satin finished which measures 9" x 8", with a walnut base. The Sierra top is 1 1/2 to 2" thick by approximately 10". The top is highly polished like glass. The natural roughness is retained in the irregular shape and rugged edge. Once polished, the burled swirl of mineral deposits creates a unique and extraordinary design. A brass plate is included, but is not engraved for both the urn and keepsake.
Keepsake base measures 2" x 2", the Sierra top is 1/2" x 4" and is 8 cubic inches.
