O Lord, I'm just a humble
cowboy ridin' cross the open range, and I know this simple prayer may
seem more'n a little strange.
I've heard that there's a
mansion waitin' for me in heav'n above, and I don't mean to seem
ungrateful for all your mercy'n your love.
But Lord, I'm just a humble
cowboy with a hankerin' for simple things. I don't need no mansions, or
jewels, or crowns or rings.
Just give me a nice warm bunkhouse with a
scenic heav'nly view and it'd be real nice Lord, if my horse could be
there too.
